    3. Hi ~~ Rutan and Tucker were prominent attorneys in Ithaca, MI (Gratiot County) during the 1960's and later. You might check in Gratiot County. JCB Gary/Candy Veale <vealehaven@earthlink.net> wrote: Dear All, Is there anyone connected with the SMEDLEY and RUTAN families on this list. They lived in Vernon Township from the 1830s. Whatever happened to the RUTANs? James RUTAN was an early circuit court judge. Certainly something is known about him other occasional mentions in the county histories. 1. [MISHIAWA] Toomeys
    2. I wonder if anyone can help me. I am researching a family called Toomey, who emigrated from the UK - not Ireland - in or around 1886/1888. They settled in Michigan and lived variously in Flint, Flushing, Fenton, Wayne, Bay City, Grand Rapids, Owosso and Mount Vernon Township. Charles and Mary Ann (nee Bennett) had several children, amongst them Frank Edward, George Percy, William Arthur, and, possibly, Herbert Ernest. Frank Edward married Ruth Dygett and they had Ernest Lloyd, Ralph, Nelson, Isabell M and Donald H. George married Cora Cathcart and they had John C, who possibly died in Florida. Isabell M married Robert C Leedle on 5 March 1934, and Ralph's wife was called Charlotte. William Arthur married Chloe Slanker and they had a daughter Mary and a son Myron Slanker. I think Myron also died in Florida. William was a druggist in Flint. Does anyone have any information about the family which might help me? Thank you very much Mary Ormrod
