The Saginaw MIGenWeb site is being redone. There are new volunteers who have come onboard recently. The site is graphically new plus contains new files and links for people researching Saginaw ancestors. The new main page is at: http://www.mifamilyhistory.org/saginaw/ The last site is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~misagina/ and will be integrated into the new site. Cary and Lesly are working with us to get the site transferred on Rootsweb and when that is complete you will be able to go to either of the addresses to surf through the files for Saginaw. I have made sure that Carolyn's Photos for Saginaw have been included where needed so you can get to her files easily when they pertain. She has taken such a big project it can't be ignored as it is very important to researchers. The new base pages are up along with data that we have put up so far and there are new things that will be added in over time. Some of the things we hope to include are: Early yearbooks from the schools around Saginaw. If you have any that can be included please consider letting us copy by scanning or scanning the pages for the site. I hope to get some early school records for Chapin later this week, more on that if they are what I think they are. We would like to put up a searchable nane index to the wonderful images of the 1877 Plat Maps. Carolyn has part of the index scanned so we are looking for volunteers to take a page and type them up, to be put into a database on the site. Any of the censuses, vitals, tax lists, mortality schedules can be indexed and put onsite. I am hoping to work at a way that people who have a web page for their Saginaw family online can include it on the site and control it. Along with other types of submissions. The coding will take a couple of weeks for it and I will announce on the list here if alright with the list administrator. If anyone wants to help with a set of files or coordinate getting files online for a group of records, please write to saginaw@mifamilyhistory.org Patricia Wazny-Hamp MIGenWeb Sites Saginaw http://www.mifamilyhistory.org/saginaw/ Gratiot http://www.mfhn.com/gratiot Houghton http://www.mfhn.com/houghton Keweenaw http://www.mfhn.com/keweenaw hosted by: Michigan Family History Network http://www.mifamilyhistory.org --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
