You say it is not a place or town, Shields is listed in the latest map put out by the AAA. As a child I remember many trips to Shields to visit the Meat Market where mother purchased most of the meat for the family. Joe Whelton, the long time manager of Tri City Airport and Ed Murphy his assistant both listed Shields as their homes. It is in Thomas township but is definitely a spot on the map of Michigan, M46 about 7 miles west of Saginaw. Jerry Stevens
