    2. Mary, Your mother probably took you to the Schuch Hotel at 301 N. Hamilton, close to the Saginaw River. The Schuch was a Saginaw institution, well known for serving pails of peanuts (in the shells). Patrons would toss the schucked shells all over the floor - while downing large quantities of lager... It was a great evening whenever you stopped by. It was owned and operated for a long time by Bill Furlo. I don't know when the old place changed hands as I left Saginaw in 1980. Hope this helps.
