Except for the Smith name I don't have any of your names, however I find it helpful if you add the time frame your people were in Saginaw Co. Thanks Sue D. I saw your name list for Saginaw. I too would like to know the years covered. I do have Smith in my family, actually was German Schmidt we are told. I'm also curious about the Leaman name. There is probably no connection, but my maiden name and family name is LEA. My great grandfather was John Lea, born in Germany in 1848. He came to the US with 3 brothers but we don't know their names. He ended up in Saginaw, ca. 1860's. I cannot find him on the 1860 or 1870 census, at least not under LEA, but he is on the 1880 census. He married Mary Louise Schneider in 1873 in Saginaw. Does your family have a long lost brother that would fit my John? Probably not, but thought I would check. My Smith/Schmidt family is John, b. abt 1819 in Germany. Our information indicates he came to NY about 1852. He m. Mary Reidel/Reidle bef. 1843. I have 10 children listed. One daughter, Mary m. John Bluem abt. 1859. They came to Saginaw abt.1862 and parents appear to have also moved to Saginaw at some point. John and Mary Bluem's daughter Mary was my great grandmother, whom I remember. Thank you for responding.
