Stiff b: 16 February 1841 Warren Co., New Jersey m: 16 January 1866 There is a bio of James Graham in Chapman's 1881 History of Saginaw County.� It says that the Grahams were of Scots ancestry and that James came to Saginaw County in 1851.� He settled in Thomastown Twp. in 1854.� At Hoyt Library, I found a Thomastown plat map (late 19th century?) with J. Graham noted in section 32 -- about 6 sections from Hemlock.� Written across sections 32 and 33 is "Graham's Station."� James' daughter, Eliza, married a McBRATNIE who also lived in Thomastown Twp. (section 24).� Eliza's uncle-in-law, William McBratnie, ran a general store in Hemlock and was Hemlock's postmaster during the 1870s.� (I'm connected through the McBratnies -- I descend from Eliza's brother-in-law, Will.) If this family connects with yours, I can put you in touch with Agnes McBratnie Frost's grandchildren.� Some of them live in Saginaw.
