Thanks to every one who offered suggestions on how to transfer my FTM files from a desktop to a laptop. When I was getting conflicting advice from different salespeople on how to do this, I knew that some of you on this list would be able to give me the correct way to do this procedure. I was told I needed to buy a software program to move files from one PC to another, to one person who said I could buy an electrical device that would let my PC talk to another PC and transfer the files. Needless to say, I was getting more confused and discouraged with trying to buy a laptop. So, now all I have to do is decide which brand and model to buy and hope that they offer reliable technical support. Thanks again for all of your suggestions. When I do purchase one I will get in touch with those of you who offered to help me with the transfer of files. By the way, what does the message to AOL security group re: FTM files and a virus have to do with my request for info? Just wondering what does this mean? Thanks again for your help. Patricia
