Good Morning, I want to express my appreciation to all who shared their information and expertise concerning my question on the naturalization papers of my g grandfather, Henry Bird of Lincolnshire. To sum up what I have found, these papers may contain very little, if any helpful information, or they may contain some lucky finds such as letters, a photo, etc. I found nothing new. But, because of a suggestion from one who reponded to my query, I did search out my copy of the 1900 census, and there, I did find a year of emigration, 1846. What confuses me is that it seems a cousin in England told me my g grandfather was found there in the 1851 census. It could be that he returned for a short while. Oh well, the mystery continues. I guess this is one aspect of genealogy that makes it so much fun!! Please accept my apologies for the time it has taken me to express my appreciation.
