After working for months on Calvary Cemetery Record books I am finally at a point where I am putting the transcribed index of the record book and the actual scanned images of the index on the website. After the index is on the site I will start putting the actual scanned images of the records on the site for you to view. In the mean time I have transcribed the entire index of over 5000 names that are buried in Calvary cemetery. This transcription is the best I could do with the handwritting in the books. I feel that many of the names I transcribed are not accurate. So if you look at the transcribed index keep this in mind or you can see the actual scanned index page for yourself. From the main page click on "City of Saginaw". Then click "Calvary Catholic Cemetery" and then click "Calvary Cemetery Record Book" Many more cemeteries have been photographed or are being photographed by our volunteers. The weather has been perfect for this...not too hot...not too cold. The! re are no weeds to contend with and the moss on the stones has not started growing yet. If you would like to volunteer to do a cemetery or part of a cemetery please let me know. I have about 6 cemeteries that are photographed and I am in the process of indexing before I can add them to the site. Also I am looking for old church histories of Saginaw Churches. If you have one of these church history books please contact me. When all the cemeteries are photographed we should have a very good surname index of veterans that are burried in Saginaw county cemeteries. If you would like to send me a picture and a short biography of your veteran I will add it to the site. The veteran project has become my pet project for the last 3 years. I wish I could honor every veteran with their own page. And I would if I could find information on every veteran.
