I remember a Carol or Carolyn ALLORE. The late 1950's, she had a buckskin mare she called Honda d'Oro that she kept at a stable at the corner of Center and McCarty Roads. We were AHHS teens at the time. They are putting in a subdivision now where that stable was. More's the pity. The best farm land in the state of Michigan turning into malls, paved parking lots and subdivisions of ugly, pretentious houses. At least the old Golfside had a lot of large attractive homes, keyword being attractive - and tasteful. Every Christmas we had to make the slow meandering drive thru Golfside to see the Christmas lighting on the houses there.
