Probably Calvary, but could also be at Mt. Olivet, both are Catholic cemeteries. I believe Carolyn has Calvary on her website. Pat P.S. Just because a person was of the Catholic faith, it doesn't mean they were buried in one of the two cemeteries I mentioned, there are a multitude of cemeteries they could be buried in. In that timeframe though I would think they probably are in one of those two if they were buried in a Catholic cemetery. When I was at Roselawn, they were very helpful in finding my grandparents. Their card file contains the obits pasted onto the information. I was very impressed. If you could scan those with the pictures? What I have done is listed the cemetery as "Lawndale/United Methodist Cemetery" This way if anyone is looking for a surname for either of the cemetery names they will hopefully find who they are looking for. Nancy I would love to post the obituaries you have for this cemetery. Wouldn't it be great if we had the obituary for every headstone......HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! (Next project??????) Hi, I found this name listed as being a member of St. George's Catholic Church in Saginaw between 1918 and 1931. DELTUVA Antanas Could you tell me where someone might be buried if they went to that church between 1918 and 1931. Thanks Fran
I would like to set up photographing of Brady Hill Cemetery for Saturday, July 19, 2003. This is one of Saginaw's oldest cemeteries. I would like to get as many volunteers as possible to photograph this cemetery. If you would like to join us please let me know. The more volunteers the less time it will take. This cemetery may hold important clues for researchers. There was recently posted a cemetery named "Bremer" for lack of a sign at the sight. I saw a post to the Saginaw list which said that was called Kochville Methodist (if my memory serves me correctly). You have correctly labeled the cemetery at the corner of Bay and Kochville as Kochville Methodist and it is not the same nor part of the one on Lawndale and Kochville. According the obits of the Dill's the cemetery on the corner of Kochville and Lawndale is "Lawndale Cemetery". (Including that of Dorothy Dill d. 1999). I much appreciate your work up there in Michigan as I am in Florida and rarely get up there. The Lawndale cemetery pictures are helping me find the death dates for some of the Dill family in my line. There was a large marker with the name "Lena Dill" on it but I couldn't read the writing from the picture on the web - is there anyway to find out what that actually says? If it is the Lena Dill I am looking for she was born 1854 and died 1939. Copyright 2003 Michigan Live Inc. www.mlive.com/obits Michigan Live is a Registered Trademark of Advance Internet, Inc. Carolyn, that is the United methodist Cemetery, established in 1875, last know owner was a Mr. Harold Dill of 5875 Lawndale Rd., he also held the records of who is buried there. I found a cemetery with 65 headstones in it. It didn't have a name so I named it Bremer Cemetery due to the oldest burial and most of them were Bremer headstones. It was on the corner of Kochville Rd and Lawndale Rd. If anyone knows the real name of the cemetery please let me know. The Cemetery photos are on the website. Sure will! See you then. I will bring your maps and book. Sorry you couldn't make it to the library that Thursday. I got in some good research that day. It seems I just don't get much time to get to the library. Carolyn Patrick Bohinski <Bohinski@Chartermi.net> wrote: Sounds good to me, will you send out a reminder on Friday please.
