    2. Dear Carolyn: Olive Branch Methodist Cemetery was established in 1900 and is located on 1 and 3/4 acres of Section 31, 7865 Dixie Highway. An article about this cemetery was written in the Timbertown Log, the newsletter published by the Saginaw Genealogy Society. This is a quarterly publication that began with: Vol. 1 no. 1 (fall 1972). The Timbertown Log is available from the Saginaw Genealogical Society, Saginaw Public Libraries , 505 Janes Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 Olive Branch Methodist cemetery, Frankenmuth twp. 3. Olive Branch Methodist Cemetery has been added to the site. Does anyone know the history of this cemetery? It was back in a highly wooded area that was totally overgrown with shrubs, weeds and bushes. It is set back some distance from the road and cannot be seen from there. Next to the road is a large cement slab. It looks like a building may have been there at one time. Since this is called a Methodist Cemetery, could there have been a church called Olive Branch Methodist Church at one time? Any info would be appreciated. It is located between Townline and Curtis on Dixie Hwy. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~evansandobertein/saginaw.htm Good luck Carolyn

    3. I have added the 1886 Memorials (obits of a sort) to the data on Michigan Family History Network. The Pioneer Memorials for Saginaw from the 1881, 1884, 1885 and 1891 and now 1886 Michigan Pioneer and Historical Collection are online. http://www.mifamilyhistory.org/memorials/default.asp It is best to do a search through these as many contain names of siblings, daughters and sons, business partners, and parents. 3. I, too, do not seem to be able to open the site. I have tried to copy the photos of George and Catherine McCrorys' tombstones at the "Old" St. Charles Riverside Cemetery. I believe that my Nathaniel and Mary J. Brownell are buried in this older cemetery also, but there is no listing. Thanks for any help. 2. Hey guys - I did a search at the Saginaw News and came up empty. I had been sporadically corresponding with Mrs Phillip Smith, nee Florence Gubtil at McBrite Manor in Saginaw, but my last message came back moved, no forward. As she was well over 100 I'm taking this as 'deceased'. Could someone suggest an alternate obit source to check for a death this year? She did have family that most likely would put a notice in the paper, but I am reluctant to drop a condolance note until I am sure of what happened, and somewhat reluctant to drop a line that says "Hey, anyone dead?" 2. Betty L. Clark
    3. Hello list; This is New Years Eve and almost the start of a new year so I thought I would give the name of the family I am researching for all the new members who may have got a new computer for Christmas! My maiden name was McManemy, spelled the many ways it sounds. ( the Irish were great about using vowels). John my GG grandfather moved to East Saginaw from Ontario, Canada after 1861 and married a Mrs. Harriet Campbell in 1864. They moved to Hemlock, Richland Township, MI and raised their family of at least 5 children, Emma, Frank, William, Charles and George and Harriet's son William Campbell. Harriet died in 1887 and soon after John moved to Aberdeen, WA where he died in 1893. If anyone has any information about any one in this family, please contact me or the list! Sincerely. Betty L. Clark please note my new email address: mailto:bettylue@cox.net
