Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CIB.2ACI/1293.3 Message Board Post: Hi Amanda, Thanks for offering to help others. It appears much of my family settled around the Hudsonville area & 2 relatives are listed as original pioneers - living in Georgetown in 1849 - Dirk & Adriann Van Farowe. I have some hard questions, but I'll give it a try. Is there anything you are particularly looking for? My questions: 1. Do you know of any list of cholera victims from 1849? How about a cemetery where they were buried? 2. Is there a way to find out any info on the now ghost town - Farowe (also have seen it spelled Furonde)? There used to be a church called Farowe Reformed, which I hear is now South Blendon Reformed. 3. Do you happen to know if any orphan trains came through that way? I'm especially looking around 1905. Thanks & have a great day, Lori :)
I've heard there used to be a small local newspaper in Farowe. While I'm not sure of that I do know that the other local newspapers (Zeeland Record, Holland City News) had correspondents in Farowe and occassionally included tidbits from that area. ----- Original Message ----- From: <pawlike@aol.com> To: <MIOTTAWA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 03, 2005 9:07 PM Subject: [MIOTTAWA] Re: need help in eastern ottawa county on tough questions... > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CIB.2ACI/1293.3 > > Message Board Post: > > Hi Amanda, > Thanks for offering to help others.
