He arrived in the Zeeland area around 1848. I am not sure how old he was when he arrived I haven't been able to find any ship's lists with his name on it; however he is listed on the plaque in Zeeland as one of its first settlers. Also information about any of his children or ancestors would be wonderful if anybody has anything. Velderman is my father's name and Elderkin is my mother's. She came from Grand Rapids but I'm not sure where her parents originated from. I do not have her mother's or father's name or place or birth or death, if anyone would have that information that might be the start I need for that part of my search. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.
