Jacob VanGordon died on Saturday morning, at 9 o'clock, aged 87 years. For nearly thirty years he resided on the line of this township, a good neighbor and worthy citizen. His wife departed this life twelve weeks before on the same day and hour. So soon has the husband followed his beloved wife to the other shore. The funeral services were held at the Free Methodist Church, of which he was a member, on Monday afternoon, and the long train of carriages filled with mourning friends which followed the body to its last resting place, evidenced that he was highly esteemed. [*Note: The wife mentioned in the obituary was named Eleanor, surname unknown. Can anyone assist in locating her maiden name??]
