The Herman DETERS you ask about is my granduncle. He was the fifth of 10 children born in Newaygo County, Michigan, to Jan Hindrik DETERS (b. 1 June 1854, Alte Piccarde, Grafschaft Bentheim, Hanover) and Gese (Grace) PLESCHER (b. 19 June 1858 in Osterwald, Grafschaft Bentheim, Hanover). Jan Hindrik DETERS was the son of Jan Harm DETERS and Janna KAMPS. Gese PLESCHER was the daughter of Hindrik PLESCHER (or PLESSCHER) and Jenne ZWEIRS.
