List, I just discovered this site that has links to other sites that will translate languages both ways online. You can type in text or cut & paste it, will do emails or web pages by typing in the URL. Dutch is not yet listed (hope it will be) but French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Chinese are. I had a German letter from a relative dated 1984 that I had only a short sentence of translation written by an aunt that simply said "he wants family information, he's a head teacher in a trade school". The aunt said she never answered the letter. The letter was a full type written page, so I typed it in so that I would have a more exact translation for the family records. Also, hoping it might contain some tidbit of information I didn't know. Was I in for a surprise. The letter did say what the aunt had written down but it also stated that he had the direct line (with wives first names), birth & death dates going back to the 16th century if we wanted it! I typed in my response to him in the English to German box, hit the "translate" key & presto!, it gave me my copy in English and in German ready for copying and pasting. I mailed the letter today along with copies of what I did have on the history of the family and the US branch. Won't he be surprised when he gets an answer to his letter 15 years later AND in his own language! This is the main linking page: http://www.babelfish.com/Translations.shtml I liked using this site the best: http://www.freetranslation.com/ Hope this helps someone else. -- Shalom in Messiah Yeshua/Jesus, Shelly Low Arnold <[email protected]> Holland, MI Home Page: <http://www.macatawa.org/~rsarnold/> Family History page: <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rsarnold/> Researching: ARNOLD, ATWELL, BENNETT, DEWAR, EAS(s)ON, ELDER, GROENMIEJER, LAPO, LOW, NEISH, NETHAWAY, OVERKAMP, PACKER, PETERS, PLUISTER, ROSENBERG(er), SCOTT, SECKSTON(E), SKINNER, SOULE, STRICKLAND, WILCOX / WILCOCKS, WHITTEMORE and looking for a connection of ELDER, SCOTT &/or LOW with DUNCAN.
