They once had their own Postoffice, store, etc. 2 miles to the west on the beach of Lake Michigan were wooden docks to ship farm and fruit products from. Sand Drive was the original US-31 that was cut through to Grand Haven on the old Indian trail. This was done with axes by Rev. Van Raalte and his friends. Best wishes, Ken
