Can anyone give my some clues about where to try in the state of Michigan, esspecially the Dutch colonies. I know of the existence of Holland and Zeeland. Do they have complete Death certificate registration or special Censuses? Are there more known Dutch colonies around 1890 in Michigan? I'm looking for Joost van Herwijnen, immigrated to the USA on January 9th, 1888. Stayed in Pella, Iowa during 1888. Left it the next year, and still lived in 1895. The letters to his family in The Netherlands where burned during the second world war, some say they were send from Michigan. He was born october 10th, 1839 in Giessen, The Netherlands. My offer: Counterresearch in The Netherlands and information about the Dutch colonies in the USA. Thanks in advance.
