When his father, William DeWitt, immigrated to the United States, the person to whom his family was coming was Gabriel VanPutten, brother of Jacob VanPutten. Jennie Krijgsman VanPutten was Leonard's grandaunt. I am a first cousin twice removed of Paulina.
