Mi. in the 1860 & 1870's. This person may have bought the land from Hope College or may have sold to Hope College. Any information would help.
Dear Harold, Egbert Pieters Post 1809-1892 and wife Grietje Jans Boehout had a son John (Jan) who lived from 1850- Jan 17 1928. He died as the result of an automobile/pedestrian accident . The information on the accident comes from my mother's recollection of the event. I don't know if this is the John you are seeking . My information comes from "A Century in America 1867-1967, The Egbert Post Family" by David Post. My descent is through John's step brother Peter, so I do not have any data on the family of John Post.
