Contact the Township Office in the village of Spring Lake. The records were moved there from the cemetery office a few years ago. I was at the office in 2002 and found the personnel there helpful. They allowed me access to the files and I was able to obtain information and make copies of it. Unfortunately I don't have the telephone number but your can probably obtain it from the web by typing in Spring Lake MI. Good Luck! How would I go about finding the location on my uncle burried in the Spring Lake Cemetery in 1947. I have called and left a message but nobody has ever gotten back to me on it. I haven't contacted the Spring Lake Cemetery recently but as of about three years ago and five years ago, they were not genealogically oriented. I am nearly positive a greatgrandmother is buried there beside here husband and son. There's no headstone, though, and it's impossible to find anything in the records. Their records were absolutely chaotic -- no rhyme or reason to anything. I volunteered to sort their records and computerize a list. They declined, saying they'd get to it. That was five years ago.

According to the census of 1870 the family live in Grand Haven. The family existed in 1870 of father Doeke Dykhuizen (born in 1818), mother Trientje (Kort) Dkhuizen (born in 1816) and their children; son Menko (born in 1840) with his wife and children, daughter Trientje (born in 1851), and sons Jan (1857) and Albert (1861). Who has more information about this family ??? I'm especcially interested in the dates and places of death of Doeke and Trientje. Probably Trientje Kort died before 1871 because a man named Doeke Dykhuizen marries in 1871 in Ottawa to Geertje Dykstra. Probably is this the same Doeke Dykhuizen as I mention, but I'm not sure. If anyone can find more information, I'm very interested. Thanks, Harm (The Netherlands)

I am trying to establish links between Sarah SLAGH, Scott MCCARTNEY (apparently Sarah's brother), and my great-grandfather George (aka Jacob) MCCARTNEY. The following information is from the 1880 census: Andrew SLAGH, 51 Farmer Sarah SLAGH, 45 Keeping house Rachael SLAGH, 18 Clara SLAGH, 17 Pricilla SLAGH, 14 Nora SLAGH, 12 Andrew SLAGH, 7 Chalmers SLAGH, 5 Scott MCCARTNEY, 27, Laborer, (and brother-in-law to Andrew SLAGH) All the individuals were white and born in Pennsylvania. The parents of Andrew, Sr., Sarah, and Scott were born in Pennsylvania. The family may have migrated to Michigan,.but I do not know that for sure. Thus, I don't know to where in Michigan they might have moved or when they may have moved. I am posting this query on the Ottawa, Michigan, board because I believe some SLAGHs live in that county (especially in Zeeland and Holland) and am hoping they may know of this family. Any help would be appreciated.
