Our father was Bartholomeus (Bart) Hilhorst, working at that time at C.I.L. in Cornwall ON and living in a boardinghouse on Young Street in Cornwall. Later we moved as family (my mother, brother and father) on Shirley Ave in Cornwall. Beginning 1970's we moved suddenly to the Netherlands. Both my parents died young and never have told my brother or me that we had a half sister. We don't know a name, all private papers are gone. Can you give me a tip how I can find my half sister and her mother. I'm planning to come to Canada in May 2005. I would be very, very grateful if you or somebody else could help me.

This Jerusha Howell Cole m. Sardine Van Ornum as his second wife. For some unknown reason the 1880 census has Jerusha Van Ornum living with a Terry family and listed as mother-in-law. Sardine Van Ornum's son Hiram Van Ornum m. Aurilla Terry and just how Aurilla connects to the Terry family with whom Jerusha Cole Van Ornum is living is a mystery. My connection to the Cole name is through Jonathan Webb's daughter Altha Webb who m. Asa COLE b. abt 1831 d. 1875 in Edwards, SLC, NY. I don't know hs parents names and I have no record of a son named Martin. But they are all connecting back to Edwards it seems. Linda
