One section of this webpage is a collection of unknown photographs which were probably taken in the Muskegon/Ottawa county areas. I thought I'd check and see if putting a link to my website is anything that you would be interested in.http://www.geocities.com/rw2lite/index.html?970005996890 "

    2. Brian & Terri Rene (DaVar) Howard
    3. Looking for an Obituary? Located at <http://www.macatawa.org/~brianter/genweb.htm> you will find a link titled "Obituary Indexes " (left side of table, 13th cell down at present). Go to the search engine, located at <http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/mi/search.htm>, or follow the link from the first URL given <smile> You will want to Search by County ... click on the dot next to "Ottawa" .... then go farther down on the page to type in the surname which is of interest to you. I did a search for Cornell and found three matches: <http://searches1.rootsweb.com/usgenweb/archives/mi/ottawa/coopersville/cemetery/c16201.txt> CORNELL Minnie L., wife 1877-19. . Samuel W., husband 1879-1929 <http://searches1.rootsweb.com/usgenweb/archives/mi/ottawa/multiple/index/i53211.txt> BOUWENS Cornell~~ 06/11/1930 <http://searches1.rootsweb.com/usgenweb/archives/mi/ottawa/multiple/index/i53202.txt> CORNELL Donald 02/05/1936 Obviously none of these matches the George A. Cornell who died in Ottawa County in July 1967. IF one had matched, you could have sent an e-mail to Herrick Library's Genealogist with the information and asked him to send you a copy of the obituary, which he would have done for less than $1.00. Since you have not been able to find this person in the on-line index, you can still ask Ralph <[email protected]> to look for you .... as mentioned on the Ottawa County MI page: The Genealogy Department at Herrick Library has this OFFER for you: 1. Identify the name of an individual you want them to look for in their VAST genealogy department. 2. Send $1.00 for that name plus money for xerox copies ($0.10 a page) to "Ralph Haan, Herrick Library" 300 South River Ave. Holland, MI 49423 * include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. You will receive a packet of all information available about your "identified individual" IF you have e-mail, please send a note to <[email protected]> with the name of the individual ... Ralph Hann will let you know how many pages of data he will need to xerox for you. NO QUERIES WILL BE RESPONDED TO without the SASE. BUT please be aware that if he must do more than a half-hour's research for you there WILL be a fee ... he will let you know the fee in advance if you give him your e-mail address. I suggest you do all preliminary contacts by e-mail, then send a copy of the e-mail with your request and the fee ... Once you have the obituary, I suggest you post the actual OBIT to the URL where the QUERY was mistakenly posted, <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mi/OttawaObits>. 1. Re: [Ottawa Co., Michigan Genealogy] looking for Van Raalte info
    2. Christopher J Penning
    3. From "Descendants of Albertus Christiaan van Raalte - Founder of Holland, Michigan: 1847 - 1972" by Edward Prins, 1972. Albertus Christiaan van Raalte II (17 Oct 1811 Wanneperveen, Overijsel, Netherlands - 7 Nov 1876), married 15 Mar 1836 to Christina Johanna de Moen (30 Jan 1815 Leiden - 6 Jun 1871) Dirk Blikman Kikkert van Raalte I (1 Mar 1844 Arnhem, Gelderland, Netherlands - 12 Feb 1910), married 1884 to Katie Ledeboer (1 Feb 1852 - 5 Jun 1926) Dirk Blikman Kikkert van Raalte II (4 Jul 1891 Holland - ??), married 24 Jun 1912 to Margret Elizabeth Hopson (26 Jun 1891 Chicago - ??) [This is most likely the man to whom you refer. He would be A.C. van Raalte's grandson. I could not locate an obituary, which presumably would give details about his career.] Dirk Blikman Kikkert van Raalte V was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1970, according to the book by Prins. Perhaps you could locate him through phonebooks or a search engine.
