Posted on: Ottawa Co., Michigan Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mi/Ottawa/855 Surname: DEREMO ------------------------- I did a look-up several months ago from someone researching the DEREMO surname in Ottawa County. I think I checked census index listings for him. I will forward your recent messages to him to see if this connects to him. I have NO connection to this family - I'm just an initial go between. In the meantime... This was his initial query & follow-up msg.: > Earl F. Deremo was born in Dekalb, St Lawrence Co., NY, in 1817. He married > Permelia Curtis who was also from NY, and was also born in 1817. I believed > he left NY prior to 1850 as he is not listed on the 1850 census for Dekalb, > and he and Permelia are listed on the MI census for 1870. However, I am not > a 100% sure about this as I have conflicting data on his son John Quincy > Deremo. The Mormon records and family notes indicate that John was born in > Joliet, NY, in 1855 or 1856, but another resource shows that he was born in > Crockery Twp., Ottawa Co., in 1858. > > Earl died in 1893 and Permelia in 1890. > > Earl's parents were Joseph Deremo and Rebecca Riggs, both from CT. Joseph > was born about 1770 and Rebecca about 1780. Other children were Sarah, > George, and Orsemas. I have a fair amount of additional info on Earl's, > Orsemas's, and George's descendants if you would be interested. > > My line is Joseph - Earl - John Quincy - Orin - Willis. > Are you related to Earl, and if so how? > Ed > HE THEN ADDED THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.......... Shelly: Thank you vey much for the offer to help. I would like to know more about Joseph Deremo who was born about 1770 in CT., and then moved to Dekalb, St Lawrence Co., NY. I would like to know who his parents were, where the family immigrated from, etc. There may be some connection to a Joseph Deremore who was born in Wallingford, New Haven, CT. His wife's name was Sarah Beach, and her mother's maiden name was Curtiss. Joseph Deremo's daughter was named Sarah, and one of his son's son had a middle name of Curtis. Two of Joseph's sons also married Curtis girls. May not mean anything, but then again who knows. Thanks again for your offer to help. Ed

Posted on: Ottawa Co., Michigan Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mi/Ottawa/842 Surname: EASTWAY, TUBBS, PURCHASE, KNICKERBOCKER, GORDON, NICHOLAY, BURR, COOPER, PIXLEY, KIRKLAND, FELLOWS, PASKILL, SAMPSON, WHITE, DENNIS, CHAPEL, KNOWLTON ------------------------- Second Generation Margaret Ann Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. March, 1826, England, the eldest child of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. Joel Matt Fellows, around 1847; d. Joel was born in New York in December, 1827, a son of Daniel Fellows and Jersha Fuller. According to the history of Ottawa County, one of James' sons-in-law was Joel Matt Fellows, who was "the first prominent man in Ottawa County." He married one of the six daughters of James and Patty. The name of that daughter is still up for debate. Here's what we have: The 1860 federal census of Olive Township shows Joel and "Margaret" with children: Emma (11), Edwin F. (9), Eugene (7), May (3), and Lottie (7 months). An 1876 map of Olive Township showed J.M. Fellows living next door to Elias Eastway and Samuel Purchase (brothers-in-law). The 1880 federal census shows Joel and "Maria" (sic) in Olive, Ottawa Co., MI, with children Lillie (20) and Levi (19). Next door was the home of their son, Edwin Fellows. In 1884, Joel and Margaret were living in Olive Township with their son, Levi J. (22). Also in the home was Mary J. Blevins (18), schoolteacher. Next door was the home of Edwin Fellows (33). The Olive Township Cemetery shows a son next to the graves of Joel and Martha, who died in 1896. He was born in 1895, when Martha was 69. Margaret died July 19, 1900, and was buried in the Olive Township Cemetery. Her gravestone bears the inscription, "Martha C. Fellow," wife of J. M. Fellows, March 30, 1826-July 19, 1900. Joel was living in Olive in 1900. The federal census shows him and his wife, Maria (b. March, 1826), with his grandson, Sylvester F. Chapel (18). Joel was a landlord. Joel married his sister-in-law, Mary (Eastway) Purchase, January 15, 1901, in a ceremony in Ottawa Co., MI, performed by Rev. H. A. Day. Witnesses were A. and E. Parhurst. Joel was living in Olive at the time. Children: Emma Fellows, b. 1848, NY; m. Hiram B. Knowlton; d. 1937, Ottawa Co., MI Edwin Fellows, b. around 1851, NY; m. Mary ____ Eugene D. Fellows, b. around 1853; m. Sarah _____ May Fellows, b. June 20, 1857, MI; d. October 13, 1865 Lillie E. Fellows, b. around January, 1860, Olive, MI; m. Frank A. Chapel Levi J. Fellows, b. around 1861, Michigan Son, b. October 2, 1895; d. February 7, 1896 Elias Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. November, 1829, Isle of Guernsey, the second child and eldest son of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. Orrena "Rowena" Tubbs, October 4, 1855, Hillsdale Co., MI; d. 1911; Olive Township Cemetery, Ottawa Co., MI. When Elias was about four years old, his parents brought him to America and settled in New York state. Elias first shows up in the federal census in 1850 in the home of his father in Eden Township, Erie County, New York, at the age of 21. Around 1851, the Eastways moved from their home in New York to Hillsdale County, Michigan. Elias was around 22 at the time. Elias and Rowena were married October 4, 1855, in a ceremony in Hilldale County. Rowena's name was listed as "Orrena." Rowena was born in New York in 1838, a daughter of Seth Tubbs and Abigail Brown. In 1860, "Eli S." was listed in Olive Township with his wife, "Roina" (23), and two children, Maria (3), and Reuben (2). Elias' estate was valued at $400. Elias bought land under the Graduation Act for 50 cents per acre. His property was located in T6N-R15W, Section 3: SW/4 SE/4 and in Section 1: SE/4 NE/4 and W/2 NW/4. His land adjoined that of Ozias and Ellen (Eastway) Tubbs. Rowena died in 1861 at the age of 23 and was buried in the Olive Township Cemetery. Her stone names her as "Orrena." In 1870, the census shows "Eli" as a widower in the town of Robinson, Ottawa County with his children Mary (15), John (13), and Luke (or Rube?) (10). Also in the home was an elder Eastway, by the name of Martin (65) -- probably an uncle. An 1876 map of Olive Township showed Elias living next to Samuel Purchase and J. M. Fellows (brothers-in-law). The 1880 federal census shows Eli in Robinson Township with his daughter "Mariah" (sic), son Reuben, Reuben's wife, Ellen, and their son Luman R. Elias and Maria were listed in Robinson Township in 1884's state census. They were living next door to Reuben (R.?) Eastway (24) and two doors down from Vinson Dennis (26). This record also shows that Elias and his mother were both born on the Isle of Guernsey. According to the 1900 federal census, Elias was farming land in Robinson. His daughter, Maria Dennis and her children were living with him at the time. The 1910 federal census shows Maria widowed at the age of 53 living with her father, Elias (80), in Robinson again. Also in the home were Maria's children, Clifton J. (21), Hugh (19), and Nada (14). Elias died in 1911 and was buried next to his long-departed wife, Orrena. Children: Maria Eastway, b. 1856; m. Vinson Elias Dennis, 1884 John Eastway, b. 1857 Reuben Eastway, b. 1860; m. Ellen __; Mary Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. 1832, at sea off the coast of England, the third child and second daughter of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. William W. Purchase, July 7, 1852, Hillsdale Co., MI; d. 1923; Ashton East Cemetery, Ashton, Osceola Co., MI. According to most public records, Mary was born in England. However, the 1910 federal census of Lincoln Township, which lists the household of Mary's son, Lorenzo Purchase, points out that Lorenzo's mother was born "At Sea." Around 1851, the Eastways moved from their home in New York to Hillsdale County, Michigan. Mary was around 19 at the time. Mary married William Purchase July 7, 1852, in a ceremony in Hillsdale County. William was born in Canada around August 16, 1820. He was married previously and showed up with his wife and daughter, Lucretia, in the 1850 census of Hillsdale County, not far from the home of Seth and Abigail Tubbs. It was apparently there that William and Mary met and were married. Around 1856, the Eastways, Tubbs, and related family moved from Hillsdale County to Ottawa County. William and Mary also went. The 1860 federal census shows Mary and William in Olive Township, Ottawa County, MI, with children: Lucretia (13), Leroy (7), and Emelia (1). William and Mary were living in Allendale, Ottawa Co., MI, in 1870. Also in the home were children, Lorenz (17) and Emelia (11), and a boarder, Charles Collins (21) of Vermont. William and Mary were living in the village of Ashton, Osceola Co., MI, in the 1880 federal census. Also in the home were their sons, LeRoy (27) and Lorenzo (8), and a boarder, Adam Gable (26). William and Mary Purchase with their son, LeRoy, purchased land in Ashton, October 10, 1881. William died of consumption of the bowels (TB) May 22, 1892, in Lincoln Township, Osceola Co., MI, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, 6 days. His death certificate says that he was born in Ohio. William was buried in the Ashton East Cemetery, Osceola Co., MI. January 15, 1901, Mary married her brother-in-law, Joel M. Fellows in a ceremony in Ottawa County, Michigan, performed by Rev. H. A. Day. Witnesses were A. and E. Parhurst. Mary was living in Grand Rapids at the time. Mary died in 1923. Her body was placed in the Purchase family plot in Ashton, Osceola Co., near William. Children: LeRoy Theo Purchase, b. June, 1853; m. (1) Emma Louise White, March 21, 1881, Reed City, MI; m. (2) Emily A. Sampson, November 11, 1894, Orient Township, Osceola Co., MI; d. 1944, Osceola Co., MI Emelia Purchase, b. around 1859, Ottawa Co., MI Lorenzo William Purchase, b. around 1871, Ottawa Co., MI; m. Eva May Paskill, June 24, 1891, Reed City, MI; d. 1951, Osceola Co., MI Patty Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. 1834-35, New York, the fourth child, third daughter of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale. The information about Patty is sketchy to say the least. Her name shows up in the 1850 federal census of Eden Township, Erie Co., NY, in the home of her parents. Her parents had immigrated from England in 1832 (her sister, Mary, was born at sea that year). Patty was the first of her family to be born in the United States. Around 1851, her family moved to Hillsdale County, MI. However, there is no record of a Patty Eastway living there. Then in 1860's federal census, "Patti" (25, b. NY) is listed as the wife of Samuel Purchase, who we have found to have been the husband of Martha Eastway. This leads us to believe that Patty and Martha were the same person. The 1850 census which lists Patty (16, b. NY) in the home of her parents does not list Martha -- though a Martha Eastway (15, b. NY) was working in the home of Ebenezer and Lydia Ames in the same town at that time. Children: Martha Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. 1832, Eden, NY, the fifth child, fourth daughter of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. Samuel Purchase Jr., April 18, 1852, Hillsdale Co., MI; d. 1905; Olive Township Cemetery; Ottawa Co., MI Around 1851, the Eastways moved from their home in New York to Hillsdale County, Michigan. Martha was around 14 at the time. April 18, 1852, Martha married Samuel Purchase in a ceremony in Hillsdale County. Though Martha was just 15, the marriage license claims she was 17. Samuel was born in Canada in 1825, a son of Samuel and Hulda Purchase. He lived in Pittsford Township, Hillsdale Co., MI, in 1850 with his brother's family (his parents also lived there), and it is likely that there he and Martha met. The 1860 federal census shows Samuel in Olive Township with his wife, "Patti" (25, b. NY) and two children: James Edwin and Laban. They were living next to Martha's brother, Elias Eastway. An 1876 map of Olive Township, Ottawa Co., MI, showed Samuel living next door to Elias Eastway and J. M. Fellows (brothers-in-law). The 1880 federal census shows Samuel and Martha in Olive Township with children, James E. (27), Laban (23), Mary (Laban's wife), and Delos (15), along with an adopted daughter, Emma Kirkland (12). The 1884 state census whos Samuel and Martha in Olive Township with children James B. (28), Delos (19), and Maggie (12). Nearby is the home of Laban and Mary Purchase. Laban was born around 1859 in Michigan. His father was born in Canada and his mother in New York. This could have been either Samuel and Martha (Eastway) Purchase or William and Mary (Eastway) Purchase. Since William and Mary already have a child born around 1859, it is likely that Laban was a son of Samuel and Martha. Samuel Purchase died in 1893. His gravestone in the Olive Township Cemetery gives his birth and death years with the word, "Remembered." Martha died in 1905 and was buried next to Samuel's marker. Her daughter-in-law, Mary Purchase (d. 1901), was nearby. Her son Laban and grandson Leo would both join her in 1907. Children: James Edwin Purchase, b. around 1853-6, MI Laban Purchase, b. 1857, MI; m. Mary ____; d. 1907 Delos (son) Purchase, b. around 1865, MI Margaret "Maggie" Purchase, b. around 1872, MI Adopted Child: Emma Kirkland, b. around 1868, MI Edwin Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. February 10, 1837, Eden, NY, the sixth child and second son of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. Lodema F. Pixley; d. November 16, 1913, LeRoy, Sherman Twp., Osceola Co., MI. Edwin first shows up in the federal census in 1850 in the home of his father in Eden Township, Erie County, New York, at the age of 13. Lodema was born in Michigan around 1838, a daughter of Ebenezer (b. around 1804, NY) and Deborah (b. around 1806, Maine) Pixley. The Pixleys were living in Wheatland Township, Hillsdale County, MI, in 1850. In 1860, Edwin and his wife, Lodema, were in Olive Township with their daughter Amelia (1). Edwin's estate was valued at $400. In 1870's federal census, Edwin and Lodema were in Clarendon Township, Calhoun County with their children, Amelia (10) and Adelbert (4). Also in the home was Lodema's aunt (or cousin), Ellen Pixley (44, b. NY). Ellen was a Pixley only by marriage. Her maiden name was Bush (according to her death record). It is possible she was married to Aaron Pixley, who lived in Wright Township, Hillsdale County, MI, in 1850 (Aaron's wife's name, according to the census, was "Martha," age 27, b. NY). Edwin's farm was valued at $2800 at the time. His personal assets were worth $400. Edwin and Lodema moved from Calhoun County to Wheatland Township, Hillsdale County. They were there for the 1880 federal census (223/228), living in Lodema's parents' home (age 76 and 74). Also in the home were Lodema's aunt (or cousin), Ellen (54), and children Adelbert (15), Ebenezer (9) and Ray (3). Edwin was living in Wheatland Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan, April 21, 1887, when he signed a deed to purchase land from William W. and Ellen Couvis. The property, which he paid $2800 for, was described as T20N-R9W, Section 32: E/2 SW/4 and SE/4 NE/4. Edwin moved his family there, to LeRoy, Sherman Township, Osceola Co., MI. In 1900's federal census, Edwin showed up with his wife and son, Ray J. Eastway in LeRoy. Ellen Pixley was still in the home. In fact, Ellen remained in the home for the 1910 census. Next to Edwin and Lodema in 1900 was their son, "A. E. Eastway" and his wife. Lodema gave birth to five children, four of whom were still living in 1900 (Amelia Cooper, Adelbert, Ardie, and Ray). By 1910, however, only three were still alive (Ray had died in 1904). After the death of their son, Ray, Edwin and Lodema sold Ardie's land to his newly-wed widow, Nettie, for one dollar. The transaction was performed September 17, 1904, and covered land in T19N-R9W, Section 4: E/2 SE/4 NE/4 and E/2 NE/4 SE/4. Witnesses were A. D. Francisco and Lodema's aunt (or cousin), Ellen M. Pixley. Ellen Pixley died in Sherman Township, April 31, 1911 of "senility and bronchitis." Edwin died of what was known as "senile decay" November 16, 1913, at the age of 76 years, 9 months, 6 days. His death record in Reed City, MI, shows that he was born in New York, a son of James Eastway. The 1920 federal census shows Lodema and her son, Adelbert, living in Sherman Township. Lodema was 82. Lodema was buried in the Maple Hill Cemetery, LeRoy, MI. Children: Amelia Eastway, b. September 5, 1859, Hillsdale Co., MI; m. (1) __ Cooper; m. (2) Dexter Burr, March 1, 1939, Reed City, MI; d. November 12, 1946, Grand Rapids, MI Adelbert D. Eastway, b. May 9, 1866; m. May Nicholay, 1887; d. Dec. 9, 1946, LeRoy, MI Ardie Ebenezer Eastway, b. April, 1871, MI; m. Eva M. Knickerbocker, February 22, 1893, Grass Lake, MI; Ray J. Eastway, b. May, 1878; m. Nettie J. Gordon, November 27, 1901; d. 1904, LeRoy, MI Harriet Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. 1838, Eden, NY, the seventh child, fifth daughter of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. Oliver Albert Purchase, June 17, 1852, Hillsdale Co., MI. Around 1851, the Eastways moved from their home in New York to Hillsdale County, Michigan. Harriet was around 13 at the time. Harriet and Oliver were married June 17, 1852, in Hillsdale Co., MI. Though the marriage license says that she was 16, she was actually around 14. Alfred was born in New York around 1828. The 1860 federal census has Oliver and Harriet Purchase in Robinson, Ottawa Co., with children, Warren E. (5) and Clarissa (3). They were living next to Ranson Tubbs and family. (p. 440). The 1870 federal census shows "Albert" and Harriet in Georgetown, Ottawa Co., MI, with children Warren (14) and Carolina (12). Children: Warren E. Purchase, b. 1856; m. Ella ___ Carolina Purchase, b. 1857 Ellen Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. August 28, 1840, the eighth child, sixth daughter of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. Ozias Tubbs, July 30, 1856, Grand Haven, Ottawa Co., MI; d. February 15, 1904, Ottawa Co., MI; Olive Township Cemetery. Their marriage license, recorded in Allegan County, Michigan, called Ellen "Elizabeth" and claimed her age to be 28. This was clearly an attempt to disguise the fact that she was only 16 years old. The marriage was probably not approved by the parents. In all other records, the wife of Ozias Tubbs is listed as "Ellen" or "Hellen" (born around 1840). Ozias was born in Erie Co., NY, November 23, 1830, a son of Seth Tubbs and Abigail Brown. The census record for 1850 also confirms that there was no such daughter as Elizabeth Eastway; but Ellen is listed (b. 1840). Ozias and Ellen purchased land in T6N-R15W, Section 10: SE/4 NE/4 and SE/4 NW/4 and in Section 3: SW/4 NE/4. The latter parcel was adjoining Elias Eastway. In the 1860 federal census, they were living in Olive Township next to Seth and Abigail (Brown) Tubbs. Their daughter, Ida (2) was living in the home. The estate was valued at $600. In 1880, Ozias and "Hellen" were in Olive Township with their sons, Milo (18) and George (16). Also in the home was a 66-year old boarder by the name of Phebe Cummings (b. Canada). "Hellen" died February 15, 1904, followed by Ozias on June 7th of that year. They were both buried in the Olive Township Cemetery, Ottawa County, Michigan. Children: Ida Tubbs, b. around 1858, MI Milo A. Tubbs, b. March 13, 1861, MI; m. Emma __, 1883, Allegan Co., MI; d. October 16, 1887 George Tubbs, b. around 1864, MI Egbert Eastway [James, Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. 1842, Eden, NY, the ninth child, third son of James Bates Eastway and Patty Dale; m. Harriet _____; d. 1912, Georgetown, MI. Edwin first shows up in the federal census in 1850 in the home of his father in Eden Township, Erie County, New York, at the age of 8. In 1860, he was listed as 16 and still at home, this time in Olive Township, Ottawa County, Michigan. Egbert joined the Union army during the War Between the States. He was wounded in the leg and had to have it amputated. The 1870 federal census shows Egbert married and living in Georgetown, Ottawa County, Michigan, with his wife and two children, John (2) and Elisa (1). His estate was valued at $1000. The 1880 federal census shows Egbert and his wife, "Angline" (sic) in Olive Township with children, Edgar (13), Emma (10), and Herbert (5). Egbert died in 1912 while having his other leg amputated. Children: John Edgar Eastway, b. 1867 Emma Elisa Eastway, b. 1869 Herbert Eastway, b. around 1875

Some of my new information, which may either negate some of the following info or add to it, may not have been added. I think, also, that I omitted the biographies of the Dennis and Tubbs families in this text, because I had so much about them that I couldn't fit them on the file. I do have more info on them if you would like it. Speaking of large files, I may have to post this message in several pieces. Please let me know how you fit into this family. My line goes as follows: James Bates Eastway > Elias Eastway > Maria Eastway > Maude Dennis > William Zwiers > Beverly Zwiers > me And if you have anything to add, please let me know. Mary Gould, 1754 Elias Eastway [Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias] b. 1755, Devonshire, ENG; m. Mary Bates The above information comes from Lenae Larson Williams, W. Valley City, Utah James Bates Eastway [Elias, Elias, Hugh, Elias, Elias], b. 1793, England; m. Patty Dale; d. 1886; Olive Township Cemetery, Ottawa Co., MI Patty was born around 1804 on the Isle of Guernsey. Her gravestone names her as J. B. Eastway's wife, Patty Dale. The two were likely married there around 1828 and lived on the island until around 1830-31. Their first son, Elias, was born there in 1829. According to records from the LDS files, their second child, Margaret, was baptized at Kennington, England, in April, 1832. The LDS also supplies us with proof of a contemporary of James in Kennington by the name of Elias Eastway, who married there and had several children in the early 1800's. Around 1833, the Eastways immigrated to the U.S., settling in Eden, Erie County, NY. Eden was a hilly region with a 500 foot ridge above the lake that extended along the east. Eighteen Mile Creek runs through the region and branches out to water the ground well. The soil was gravelly loam and clay. Businesses in the town included a sawmill, a stave and shingle mill, and a tannery. The village was founded originally by the Tubbs family (1808). In 1850, James and Patty were in Eden with their children Elias (21), Margaret (19), Patty (16), Edwin (14), Harriet (12), Ellen (10), and Egbert (7). Two of their daughters were working as servants in other peoples' homes: Mary (18, England) at Jonas & Lillie Oliver's home and Martha (15, NY) was at the home of Ebenezer and Lydia Ames. James was an engineer during his stay in New York. Around 1851, the Eastways moved from their home in New York to Hillsdale County, Michigan. There, several of their children were married. The whole family picked up and moved to Ottawa County. In Ottawa County, Michigan, James was one of the first justices of Olive Township (1857). He had arrived there in 1856 with his children and sons-in-law. James was known as a well-educated man and was admired by the other settlers of the region. He became the first councilman of Ottawa County. Olive was a roosting place for the now extinct passenger pigeon. The bird was so numerous in those days that it would often take hours for one flock to pass. The pigeon colony in Michigan (1876-77) covered an area 28 miles long and three or four miles wide. John James Audubon once recorded seeing a stream of them that exceeded one billion. They would literally darken the sky and consume every ounce of seeds, berries, and nuts wherever they went. The noise they would make and the devastation they would leave behind was so great that they soon became the most hated bird in the east half of the U.S. People used to kill them by the hundreds. James and Patty were living in the town of Robinson, Ottawa County, Michigan in 1860 with their son, Egbert (16). Patty died in 1871 and was buried in the Olive Township Cemetery. James died in 1886 and was buried next to her. They share a monument there. Nine children: Margaret Ann Eastway, b. March, 1826, England; m. Joel Matt Fellows, 1847 Elias Eastway, b. November, 1829, Isle of Guernsey; m. Rowena Tubbs, 1855; d. 1911, Robinson Twp., Ottawa Co., MI Mary Eastway, b. 1832, England; m. Dear Harold, Egbert Pieters Post 1809-1892 and wife Grietje Jans Boehout had a son John (Jan) who lived from 1850- Jan 17 1928. He died as the result of an automobile/pedestrian accident . The information on the accident comes from my mother's recollection of the event. I don't know if this is the John you are seeking . My information comes from "A Century in America 1867-1967, The Egbert Post Family" by David Post. My descent is through John's step brother Peter, so I do not have any data on the family of John Post.
