I have no information directly on Lutz and Knickerbocker but did you know there is a very large, active on-line Knickerbocker Family Association? If you are interested, I can give you their address. Here is a postcard image of the factory.... http://www.chrispenning.dreamhost.com/4images/details.php?image_id=1 A Sanborn insurance map from 1925 shows the factory located on the northwest corner of West 7th and Mill, in Holland. This would be two blocks north and a little west of where the Civic Center is now. The company is still listed in the city directory up to at least 1984. I'm not sure what is in that location now. Slight error in my last e-mail :) The desk was made by the WEST Michigan Furniture Company, not the East! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! DSL - Now only $29.95 per month! http://sbc.yahoo.com
I recently bought an old desk that has a metal tag inside one of the drawers saying it was made by East Michigan Furniture Company in Holland, Michigan. I looked on the internet for information on this company and wasn't able to find anything. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about this company? Thanks! I'm looking for: Marriage Record for Nicholas Lamp and a wife Bridget (unk last name), married about 1875 or 1876. In 1876 Nicholas would have been 24, and Bridget 20. In 1880 they lived in Grand Haven, Ottawa Co. Death Record for: Bridget Lamp died between 1880 and 1886. More likely earlier than later, as Nicholas remarried around 1885 or 1886. Marriage Record for: Nicholas Lamp married Mary Deegan/Degan around 1885 or 1886, either in Ottawa Co. or Kent Co., as that's where Mary was from. Any info on that marriage would also help. I don't have access to the 1885 state census to see if Bridget was still alive then, or if Nicholas and Mary had married yet. Thanks in advance for any help!

I see 8 Gerrit Kruithof grooms (none with alternate spellings) in the Netherlands in the 1800s, but none whose brides look like their names would become Fannie in the States. But perhaps Gerrit and Fannie married here in the States. You didn't mention any dates.
