I think I need to clarify something that I keep seeing misunderstood. Alot of people are sending me obituary lookups based on the Soc. Sec. Death index. Which is fine, except for one thing. The PLACE you see listed after death is NOT the place they died. Many people are assuming that date and place being so close together they go together. They do NOT. That place after the date of death is the location where the DEATH BENEFIT was paid to. Not where the person died. I am looking at TWO obits here, people assumed they died in Oakland County because the cities named are here. When I check my Michigan deaths cd, those persons did not die in Michigan at all. Try to keep that in mind when requesting obit lookups. I hate disappointing people when I can't find the obits they want. Not complaining - just trying to clarify the facts.
