Keep in mind that this (Oakland County) cemetery is NOT a family cemetery. There are no family plots. Burials started in 1901 and ended in 1972. It is mostly single person burials, in a few of the graves there are not even persons, just a limb. There are quite a few unknown baby burials, lots of destitute people who had no money no nothing. I will continue to do lookups in this book, but keep these things in mind when placing your request. I think if you are looking for burials in the Northern part of Oakland County you should check into the DAR cemetery books that were done in the 1930's. Those are the earliest records on cemeteries in Oakland County. Alot of the stones recorded there may not be in other books that you will find. I believe only 5 sets were done but they contain Oakhill, which has been discussed on this list. Also keep in mind that NOT all of the old cemeteries in Oakland County have been read nor have they all been published. THe Michigan GenWeb site for Oakland County has a cemetery listing for Oakland County and the Library of Michigan Cemetery data base (Thanks to Kyle Ripley!)are great places to start. The Oakland County society has done a great job on reading these old cemeteries as well. Their cemetery books can be purchased on their web site. Greenwood Cemetery in Birmingham has been read, and is available from the Birmingham City hall. If I can answer any further questions or do a lookup in the Oakland County Poor Farm Cemetery feel free to email me. The Oakland County cemetery is off of Dixie highway almost right behind the Dixieland Flea market. It is on a small road that runs off of Dixie. Very easy to miss. There is a small fenced area, NO HEADSTONES. This cemetery has been published, the records were available thru the courthouse and compiled into a book (I believe Bev Lancaster did it). A while back, Oakland County was talking about putting headstones on the graves. Currently it is just a fenced area with only the words Cemetery above the arches on the fence to let you know it is actually a cemetery. I do have a copy of the listing and (some photo's of the area)of the people buried there. Some strange stuff. If anyone needs better directions to that cemetery and wants better directions email me, its not far from my in laws house. Hi Ann, >From the page on the Flint Genealogical Society, there was one Hannah Herrick buried in the Bristol Cemetery, Flint Township. I presume that is "my" Hannah (Page) Herrick, as Rev. Alanson Herrick is also buried there. It is felt that Alanson was the son of Hannah and Ezra Herrick Jr. Does anyone have cemetery records for the Bristol Cemetery in Flint Township?
