Hi members of MI Oakland, Someone has asked me to locate info about residents of Sec. 86, Town of Addison, Oakland Co., MI. for the year 1833. Can anyone suggest how I can do this? Was there an Addison...was it renamed or become part of another city in Oakland County? All help appreciated..thank you in advance! Rose, Probably your inquirer has in mind Addison Township, Oakland County, Michigan. The highest section number would be 36. An archaic term for Township was Town of. Referring to the book "The Addison Album" Barbara D. Stafford author; page 8 map "Addison Township Original Government Land Entries" I see Benjamin McGregor 1832, David Tanner 1831 & 1837, Moses Snover 1833, Aristorchus Willey 1831, Aristerchus Willey 1853. The print is quite small and this is what the spelling seems to be. The index has Artistorchus Willey. Page 5 "1831 saw the east half of section 36, one hundred and sixty acres, purchased by Artistorchus Willey and David Tanner."
