Ann, Below I will transcribe word for word from the book. Hope it helps. Kingsbury, Elijah, b. about 1775: m. Laura Lockwood, d. 1862. Ch: Esther, 1857-1923 (m. Charles Sowles) Kingsbury, Leonard, son of Elijah and Laura Kingsbury, 1794-1879: m. Esther Williams. Ch. Valentine, Elias (d. in Mexican War); Lorinda (m. Lewis Lockwood); Lucinda (m. Cyrus Watkins) ; Fannie (m. R. W Sage); Alonzo. Kingsbury , Alonzo, son of Leonard and Esther (Williams) Kingsbury, 1823-1906; m. Martha Bennett, 1828-1907. Ch: Mary Celesta (m. Elijah kelly) Emma J. d. age 2; Hattie E., Ida May and Frank all died in infancy. Hmmmmm.. You say that Valentines wife was Laura Lockwood, interesting that is also his grandmothers name. Plus his sister married a Lockwood too. If this book is correct then it looks like youve got cousins marrying eachother somewhere. Typical for back then, but it can make it confusing, cant it?
