    1. O'Dell's.
    2. I'm wondering if anyone on this list has my O'Dell's. They are my brickwall, and have been for over 10 years. The farthest I can get back is Willard O'Dell who was born in 1835 in New York and died on April 13, 1882. He married Mary M. English October 01, 1860 in Lakeville, Oakland Co, Michigan. She was born 1839 in W. Randolph, Vermont, and died December 29, 1899 in Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan. She was the daughter of Jalriel B. English and Abigail Flint. On the death certificate for Willard it states that his father was Bronson O'Dell and the mother was Sarah. Well I've never been able to find a Bronson, and I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't Ransom O'Dell who was married to a Sarah Benjamin. I'm not having a lot of look finding out information on their children though. It seems that Ransom and Sarah had quite a few kids. I know that Willard had a brother Dennis and a brother Samuel for sure. In the Lapeer County Press Obituary it says that a Samuel Odell came up from Norwalk or Newark, Ohio for his brother Willard's funeral. I haven't been able to get any more information. The date of the paper was April 20, 1882. For Dennis H. O'Dell I know the following: born September 16, 1833 in New York; died November 09, 1908 in Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan; married Omenda; born March 27, 1838 in New York; died March 17, 1913 in Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan. However, I haven't been able to get a death certificate on him, so I think perhaps he either didn't die in Michigan or I wrote the wrong dates for his death. Dennis and Omenda had two children, Fred and Lenora. Lenora married a William Freeman and had a son named William Freeman, Jr. Willard had two son's, Willard Jr, who often went by Will or Willie in the census. I have a death date of January 18, 1919 from a family Bible. His second son whom I am descended from was Frank Elmer O'Dell who was born March 06, 1866. Well if you've read all this, Thank you for reading! Hopefully, someone might recognize a name or two and be able to help me! Sincerely, Grace Waters http://members.aol.com/thewaterskids

    3. Hi Grace, Lakeville is in Addison Township. I checked the index to the book 'The Addison Album' for the name O'Dell. Page 30: The Village of Lakeville Lakeville Area Memories of Neil and Charles Shoemaker At that time they milled many products there, particularly wheat flours. Mr. O'Dell made three trips a week to Oxford, hauled the flour there, and on the return trip he brought the Lakeville mail to the post office. page 46: The Village of Lakeville There is a photo of a wagon and several individuals. Under this photo is: Ransom O'Dell Mr. O'Dell transported passengers and supplies between Lakeville, Shoupe Station and Oxford. Salesmen came to Lakeville and took orders for merchandise from the stores and hotel, then took the orders to the wholesale house in Detroit and had the goods sent by train to Oxford. Mr. O'Dell picked them up at the train depot and delivered them to the stores and hotel. Ransom O'Dell lived in the house at the northeast corner of Race and Main Streets. Picture cir. 1900 Ref. Bertha (Townsend) Davis and Sarah Davis. This book is well worth having if you are researching in Addison Township. You can purchase it from the author Barbara D. Stafford BMSPUBMI@aol.com or BMS Publishing Co., 4150 Lake George Rd. Leonard MI 48367. It is index, hardcover and over 340 pages.
