    3. You can order the estate directly from Oakland County, however, depending on who gets your request they may also want a copy of a death certificate. They seem to waiver from day to day on what they want and how they want it. You didn't give a death date so I Would suggest that when you write you include a phone number where they can contact you and proof that the person in the will is actually deceased. 3. Chris-- If the cemetery is in Pontiac, MI (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/mi/tsphoto/oakland/perrymount.htm), maybe the obituary appeared in the Pontiac Press (now called the Oakland Press). Try calling the Pontiac Library reference desk to see if they have the microfilm for 1948...their phone number is 248.758.3943 and their web page is http://www.pontiac.lib.mi.us/ The Oakland Press web page is http://theoaklandpress.com/ Hope this helps some. Rosie in southern Oakland County. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hello, Could someone look up my 3rd great aunt's obituary for me, please? Name: EISENHART, Helen Date of Death: 04 SEPTEMBER 1948 Date of Birth: 01 APRIL 1895 I finally got the opportunity to call the Mt. Perry cemetery in Oakland County, but they said there is no record of her burial there. Helen's daughter is still living and she says that's where her mother is buried. It could be that the cemetery's records don't go far back. Thank you, --Chris Washington State "We can do simple little things...and make someone's day.''

    3. There's a village or city called Bingham Farms that borders Telegraph and 13 Mile Rd. Maybe the area was owned by them? 3. OCGS will hold it's November meeting on Tuesday, the ninth, at 7:00, St.Stephens Church, 5500 Adams Road, Troy, MI 48098. The church is between Long Lake and Square Lake on Adams. Program: "Church Records of German and Polish Catholic Churches of Detroit". Roman Godzek, Archivist for the Archdiocese of Detroit, will discuss records of some of the ethnic churches of Detroit and surrounding areas. Included will be what records are available and where and how to access them. Those traveling from the south or west of the church on surface streets should be aware that Adams Road is closed between Big Beaver and Wattles for reconstruction of a bridge. Please either follow the official detour along Big Beaver, Coolidge and back to Adams on Wattles, or consider traveling into Troy on Long Lake or Square Lake Road from the west, or Coolidge or Crooks from the South. If you are using I-75, use the Adams Road exit (74) or the Crooks Road exit (72). From exit 74, left at the end of the ramp, then right onto Adams at the light. From exit 72, right at the end of the ramp, left onto Square lake for two miles to Adams, turn left. Thanks, Pam Pamela A. Warren www.warrenweb.info <http://www.warrenweb.info/>

    3. Bloomfield Township, Oakland County, Michigan In an article I found today in the Eagle (local newspaper), there is an article entitled, "Records as Old as 177 Years to be Posted on Web site". The article discusses the fact that some earliest minutes of the Bloomfield Township meetings are going to be posted to the Bloomfield Township web site. "Book one covers the years 1827 to 1874, another carries the history from 1875 to Apr 1907." Then there are other books after this. Not all the images will be posted at once. They will be jpeg images that can be viewed on the township's web site. No date was given for the images being posted. How wonderful to have these images made available on the web and searchable! Lets hope it happens SOON. Karen ~Well Behaved Women rarely make history!~

    1. RE: [MIOAKLAN] INFORMATION
    2. Karen Ansley Krugman
    3. My guess on the reason why is simply the economy. The State of Michigan depends heavily upon the auto industry for its money and right now things are slow. To my knowledge there are no "genealogy" certificates available in the state of Michigan anywhere. As for ordering certificates you can do it thru vitalcheck.com; the Oakland County Website; or send your money order to the county. Right now if you just send a money order I believe that you can still get them for $15. I've copied the page with the information below for the convenience of those who may have other questions regarding vital records in Oakland County. Where are you located and what are your hours? 1200 North Telegraph Road (between Elizabeth Lake and Telegraph roads), ground floor of Circuit Court Building; hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Visit our Contact section for more information. How do I obtain a copy of a vital record? Appear in person and complete the required form, or send a written request by mail. Fee is $15.00 for the first copy, and $5.00 for each additional copy. For a copy of a birth record, you must have valid picture ID and be the person, parents or legal representative. You may also order some vital records online (birth, death, marriage records). Visit the Forms and Applications index to view available online services from the Clerk/Register of Deeds office. What vital records may I obtain from this office? You may obtain certified copies of birth, marriage and death certificates. You may also register an assumed name, apply for notary certification, register for a pistol's license, and request a legal name change. Visit the Forms & Applications section of this Web site for more information. What's the difference between ordering online and coming in to the office to get a vital record? If you order online, you are charged an additional $5.00 convenience fee (in addition to the cost of the record). You will receive your vital record(s) in the mail, rather than immediately. The benefit to ordering online is that you may do it from your computer any time of the day, any day of the week. It's ideal if you'd like to save yourself the trip to the office and do not need the record immediately. For more information on ordering now - see: http://www.co.oakland.mi.us/clerkrod/ Click on Vital Records. If anyone has any further questions feel free to email me. I sure hope all the states don't follow this lead.
