Evidently I didn't do this right the first time and I just learned some new things so here goes again and I apologize if by chance my last one got through to you. I'm trying to find out more information on this family line. David W. FREEMAN was b. in New York about 1831, married Amanda ROYSE in Clayton Co, Iowa about 1858. I have them in census reports in Clayton Co and Kossuth Co, Iowa. In 1880 they are in Waverly Township, Martin County, Minnesota, then in 1900 back in Kossuth Co and then in 1910 David W. is in Union Township, Emmons County, ND. CLAYTON COUNTY: Supposedly David W. and Amanda married here but I have not been able to find anything. MARTIN COUNTY: Amanda died before 1910 but I cannot find any record of it here or in Iowa. One of David W.'s sons, Frank W. is in Fairmont, Martin Co in 1920 and his widowed wife and one daughter are still there in the 1930 census. I have been told that son David A. is living in Martin Co in 1920 but I cannot find him. Some of the census are not very clear but also I haven't finished going through all the townships. Are there any places I can find Martin Co obituaries, transcribed cemeteries, transcribed census, etc. EMMONS COUNTY: In the 1910 Census, David is living with son Fred in the Union School Township. Son Willis is in the same area. In the 1920 BLM records, David W. purchased land in June (although it appears this is land he had purchased before, or maybe he was adding on to it) however, I cannot find him in the 1920 census which I believe was done six months before. He is not listed as a member of either one of his son's households. Sons Fred and Willis are also on BLM as having purchased land. This 1910 census also shows David W. as a widower and so I have lost his wife Amanda between 1900 and her unknown place of death. In the 1930 Census, son Willis and his family are still in Emmons County. Are there any places I can find Emmons Co obituarties, transcribed cemeteries, transcribed census, etc. Sincerely, Mike Peterson
