    3. Years ago, I perused microfilm at my local Mormon family history library and found my relative's MN death record. It was from line entry books, which a county recorder entered, as he went from farm to farm and recorded all the births, deaths, etc. for a period of time. Don't remember if it was year or quarter or what. My Mary/Polly SMITH died June 13, 1870, which I believe was the year this type records were started. There was room on the line entry for the names of parents, but mine were not entered and also place of birth, which in my case was the wrong birth state was entered. But it was so nice to see her death documented, even if I did have to turn the crank of the microfilm machine, for quite a while in order to find her. Good Luck, Diana Chapman Owen
