Hi, I am researching the Surnames BARSNESS--PLANTE--CLAIRMONT--JOHNSON I believe they were in the areas of Polk county, Red Lake county, Pennington county, Roseau county, Douglas county, Lac Qui Parle county. Guess they are kind of all over. :) Peder Barsness married Anna Johnson. They had a child Peder Barsness who married a Albina Marie Louise Plante and her parents were Louis Plante and Mary Clairmont.
