I was just told that my gr gr grandfather resided in Stones Corner, Minn. in 1862. I checked the USGS GNIS mapping site and could not find any place by that name or anything close. They came from Wisconsin and went to Wabasha Co., MN after a short while. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Jim

Are you sure it's in Minnesota? I have previously encountered places that were supposedly in Minnesota but were actually in Wisconsin just on the border. Jean R. Jean, thanks for the reply. I checked the USGS site and found Stones Corner in Maine, Oklahoma, and Virginia, but not Wisconsin or Minnesota. There was a Stones Corner School listed in McHenry Co., IL that I am checking into. The reference to Stones Corner, Minn. was in a letter about the family written by a now deceased cousin. No one else in the family that I have contact with has ever heard of it. Thanks again. Jim ----- Original Message ----- From: Jean R.
