Good Afternoon! I am looking for information on my gr.gr. grandmother's brother from Sweden, John Anderson. I am at a loss as to how to go about getting more information because of this name....and to make it worse, the only time that his name appears in all of the family information that I have, is that, in 1926, the time of gr.gr. grandma's death, her brother John was a survivor of hers, living in Minneapolis. I have extracted his "acts" in Sweden and found that he was born Jöns Andersson, born September 25, 1854 to Anders Åkesson and Hanna Pehrsdotter in Östentorp, Södra Rörym, Skåne, Sweden. He left Sweden for America April 29, 1870 as a single person with no children. His sister, Karna Andersdotter, and brother-in-law, Måns Svensson and their children left Sweden May 1, 1870 for America and settled in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. Måns' brother, Per, was already in Minnesota at that time. I have been to the Historical Society in Hennepin County. I was overwhelmed at the number of John Anderson's in Hennepin County. Books and books of them. I didn't even know where to begin. Is there anyone of this list that might have some ideas on how in the world I might find my John Anderson, only knowing his date of birth and date he left Sweden for America? Cathie
