    3. I have problems with earlier Census material for age too. Not just with one family member but several. I know through other documented facts from Ohio, every census up until 1840 or 1860, gave inaccurate ages (for the most part) for my one particular family member. Anywhere from 2 - 3 years off up to 12 years off. I learned recently that individuals documenting in the early census had training but might have asked the wrong person for information. That particular individual could of been a neighbor giving details to the enumerator. Maybe a relative suffering from dementia. Whoever it was, they didn't concern themselves with correct age. I've had many an unreliable relative give information to me, who did not necessarily mean to be inaccurate however, the question obviously baffled them. I still glean information of locations, facts and tiny details from the censuses. Viewing (for the most part) the place of birth is correct. From that section of any census, tons of information. I question every census. I still find inaccurate information however, it turns me into a Genealogy Detective and a mystery to solve. What happened to them? Where did they go? Why did they go? The movement of migrant / immigrant / emigrant people in this new country, I love the hunt. I like puzzles too, connecting family dots is just as fun. Shelia
