Hi I live in Canada and would really be interested in knowing where it might be possible for me to access the Minnesota 1885 and 1895 State Censuses. I am desperately looking for any and all entries for my direct ancestry Halbostad (Holbostad, etc.) name in those two censuses. While I do have information on our Halbostad cousins that were in Murray County, my lineage were more mobile and have appeared in Lyon, Cass, and Hennepin Counties. It appears that they may have migrated through Douglas, Anoka, Dakota and/or Ramsey Counties. I believe the 1885 and 1895 censuses might be able to fill in the gap between finding them in the 1880 Federal census in Lyon County and their appearance in Cass County in 1900. They were from Norway and always appear to live in proximity to their cousins, the Halle and Carrie Rosendal family.
