Listers, While the wiillingness of the listers to help other listers is wonderful, I feel that more listers could benefit if one would provide the websites where the requested information can be found rather than doing the look up. Not only would the requester learn how to find the information he/she is looking for, but the other listers would learn about new search sites as well. I think in the long run we all gain knowledge as well as satisfaction from doing our own digging. It also often happens that we're searching for one person only to find other related family members we didn't know existed until we did the search, whereas a stranger may not recognize the additional names. We simply don't all know the internet as well as others, and need a little guidance. The John C that you are seeking "might" be the one born 3 Aug 1913, died 9 Feb 2001, last residence 92128, San Diego, CA. (But I see that Mary Wickersham found another). So you might need to check the list for others. I found 4. I looked in News Bank and found 173 obituaries that had a John Hager within the article. I could check for a specific one, if you have the date of death. I could also check local County Auditor Recorded Documents. Ron Bestrom >>

See your county auditor.
I am in absolutely no way associated with this site. I don't even know who runs the site - looks like maybe it's a group of professional researchers. I just thought other researchers might be interested in it. I just visited it for the first time today. http://www.kinsource.com/ One of the most interesting features is that they've transcribed a lot of the 1885 MN state census and it's available online for a small fee ($9 for a month or 6 mths for $25). This is what's completed so far: http://www.kinsource.com/Subscribe/ks1885transcription.htm They've made the Rice County - City of Faribault - Ward 2 searchable for free so that you can see what sorts of info the 1885 MN state census had in it. There are other interesting (free) things there as well. Kathy
I agree ... It seems that many of us depend to much on others to find data for them, and really need to learn the "(lost?) art" of research. The computer might seem a good thing, but depending on others doesn't really help us learn.
