Might I also suggest checking with the funeral home in the area? Many times those records follow new owners and if they have records, I have always found they are most happy to share . . . and sometimes I've found my best gems in the little scribbled notes in those files!! Hi Beth, Looks like you were really busy on this! Thank you. Couldn't find address for funeral home for Euphemia. Libbey Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MN Don't know where to send for William and Margery's birth certificates. Having a devil of a time searching! I have obits for Euphemia and George, they were pretty big. From The Staples (Minn) World. Euphemia was listed as working as a clerk. I wonder if it was for Northern Pacific RR as that is where George worked. Wonder how one would check that one out or if it was even possible. Didn't know William T. reg. for the draft as the story is he evaded the draft by relocating to Canada. Just above North Dakota and I believe he worked for the RR there. I know my Aunt Marjorie and Uncle Lynn were born in Canada. My grandmother left him and had my mother Bebe prematurely in Fargo. Then got back together with him and had Uncle Don in MN. He cheated on her! Bad boy. Never met the man, but know at one time my mother tried to find him. She is the only child left and is 87 years old and in mid stages of Alzheimer's. Did go to RAOGK to look for a volunteer and he was way more interested in seeing if I was willing to pay him. I don't mind reimbursing for expenses and usually would offer anyone who did things for me. Just kind of turned me off. I asked for directory look up and he was giving me the whole script. I do see that there aren't many volunteers there. Don't know if it's just for the summer or they got over whelmed with look ups. I forgot about that site as I used it once before. As I recall got wonderful information. Few years ago. Was wondering about a directory look up for Euphemia Letiz prior to 1892 and up to 1895 when the children were being born hoping to find out where she was and what name she was using. Can it be looked up under Tweedie and Letiz? Where do you find them? Thanks once again for you help, Sandy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeanine Reckinger" <jreck@ecenet.com> To: <minnesota@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 29, 2006 3:22 PM Subject: Re: [MINNESOTA] EVERGREEN CEMETERY IN STAPLES, MN > Might I also suggest checking with the funeral home in the area?
