I'm not sure where they would have recorded a marriage record prior to being a county. Maybe somebody else knows that. Vital records prior to the formation of a county can often be found in church records. Would this have been a Catholic marriage? Winona is the seat of the Diocese. Or the record could be across the river in Wisconsin.
