Good morning everyone. I am searching for the family of Joseph MENARD (Maynard) and Catherine Sophia ROY (Roi). I know that they emmigrated from Quebec, Canada, circa 1851, to Winona County, MN., with their children. I believe to Dresbach, Winona Co. Their children as follows: Catherine Isabella MENARD - m: Jeremiah TIBBETTS, Mar. 21, 1853, (first marriage in Dresbach), Catherine buried at Wilson Cemetery, Dakota. Sophia Isabella MENARD - m: Wm. MORRISSON Rachel MENARD - m: John ROBILLARD John MENARD Felix MENARD Possibly more children. Joseph MENARD died 11-19-1865 and is buried at MENARD cemetery, Dresbach, Winona Co, MN. He was aged 66. I have not been able to find Sophia ROY MENARD anywhere. I have been told that she was moved to White Earth but have been unable to determine if this is true. Pam, ROY is a well know surname in Becker County, MN. Search the US Government Land Patent web site at http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/PatentSearch/ Frank ROY is listed as a Civil War Veteran from White Earth in the book "A Pioneer History of Becker County, Minnesota" by Alvin H. Wilcox, 1907.
