They are scheduled to perform on Tuesday, June 25 at 7 p.m. at the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church on Country Road 4 in northwest Braham. This is one hour north of the Twin Cities just off Highway 65. The nyckelharpa is a tradtional folk instrument in the form of a keyed fiddle. This trio will perform both traditional music and more modern compositions. Mikael Grafström is 26 years old and is one of the leading folk guitarists in Sweden. Playing nyckelharpa is just another way of pouring out my heart, says Mikael. Olof Göthlin is from Lake Vänern and became a skilled violin player by the age of six. He likes to play the fast polskas of Värmland and the powerful melodies from Orsa, in Dalarna. Olof currently attends the Eric Sahlström Institute. Ben Lagerberg-Teitelbaum is a 19 year old musician from Evergreen, Colorado. He was awarded the Eric Sahlström scholarship to attend the Sahlström Institute in Tobo, Sweden in 2001. He plays in the Värmland style. Coffee and refreshments will follow the concert. Donations are cheerfully accepted. This event is sponsored by the Isanti County Historical Society in Cambridge and the Dala Heritage Society of Mora, and made possible in part through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council with an appropriation from the MN.
