Last residence is not given with the SSDI entry, but the MN Death Certificate index shows Hennepin County as place of death. He's buried at Fort Snelling, which gives his address: Name: John C Hager Veteran's Rank: TEC 5 Branch: US Army Last known address: 7601 34th Avenue, South Minneapolis , MN 55450 Birth Date: 17 Sep 1919 Death Date: 22 Mar 1990 Veteran Service Start Date: 15 Feb 1941 Veteran Service End Date: 22 Jun 1945 Interment Date: 27 Mar 1990 Cemetery: Ft. Snelling National Cemetery Great find, but that address is the address for the cemetery. That same cemetery has a wife of John Hager, born 12 Mar 1920, died 26 Jan 1998, Interment on 30 Jan 1998. She is buried in Section Y, Site 1459. She had Veterans Rank of Tec4 (Technical Sergeant) US Army. But, this John Hager, buried next to her, was born Feb 1916, died 8 Feb 1991. So, if anyone does research at Fort Snelling, remember there are two John Hager, the correct one is John C Hager. The Minnesota Death Index does identify that John C. Hager, died in Hennepin County, mothers maiden name Demars. --In the 1930 census, he at 10, was living with Henry and Roda Demers in Elk River, Sherburne County, MN, as grandson. Children listed for Henry were Oliver 17, Florence 15, Edith 14, Louie 9 and Ray 7. Henry and Roda were born and immigrated from Canada. I won't pursue any further in census, as you may already have that data. I checked Newsbank for that name, there were 33 with articles in 1990 with the name of "John Hager", and one with "John C. Hager". None were obituaries for your person . There are 512 newspapers within Newsbank, but, most didn't have articles online that far back. The Star Tribune for the twin cities goes back to 1/1/1986. Nothing on John. I checked for Hennepin County Recorder for documents; however, they have none online. All I can find. Ron Bestrom
