    1. Minnesota 1850's
    2. Can anyone tell me more or refer me to where Id find informaiton about how someone would have gotten to Minnesota in 1850's. Looking to see if anyone can direct me. I have Magloire & Anasasie Huot [married in 1857 polk country] then in Northern Maine in 1902. Could anyone tell me where I would be able to find a researcher for this period? I know theres a huot cemetery and a little about the huots but would like more infomation, like where they actually lived or a map at that time. Paul Cote, Jr

That all depends on from where they emigrated. There were many immigrant routes. If they came from Scandinavia/Norway, it could have been a direct route through Canada (Ontario). If they came from Europe, it could have been through Boston, New York, New Foundland, Maine. Many different routes. > I have Magloire & Anasasie Huot [married in 1857 polk country] then in > Northern Maine in 1902. First, is Magloire the Huot, or is Anasasie? Or is this their married name? They married in Minnesota in 1857 and were in Maine in 1902? I looked for these names in the US Census without success. Do you have birth information, date, place? Children? Siblings? There was an Anastasie P. Huot that died in Portland, Maine...but she was 89 on April 28, 1993.

    3. I have studied my particular family and have put together some material on a website. Try these ... http://www.frontiernet.net/~dfforrest/Minnesota http://www.frontiernet.net/~dfforrest/Westward.htm http://www.frontiernet.net/~dfforrest/Settling They are all inter-linked so if you can get to one you can find the others.
