He has been to the cemetery of his parents and talked to the Oakland Cemetery in St. Paul where her father is buried. He know which cemeteries they were in. But like I mentioned, he wasn't sure of his mother's age so it may be wrong at the cemetery. She died in 1969 and he gave the information to the funeral home. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeanine Reckinger" <jreck@ecenet.com> To: <minnesota@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 09, 2006 7:05 PM Subject: Re: [MINNESOTA] Death Index -Francis Jeffery >I might strongly recommend that you find the death certificate for his > PARENT then before you determine whether you have the correct grandparent. > Has he given you any info that he remembers himself? he would not ever > have > known them, but did he ever visit their grave? I have found important family information in old newspaper microfilms, when all else has failed. I accessed Minnesota ones at both a library in Wabasha, and at the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul. I routinely order newspaper microfilms from North and South Dakota, for use in my local library, for a nominal fee. If you don't live near St. Paul, you might be able to order the films through the Historical Society via interlibrary loan. Has anyone on the list sent for microfilmed MN newspapers, and can you explain how to go about it? Beth
