I know it is because I have the license and certificate of marriage naming the parents of Francis and Elizabeth Rogers Jeffery. They are my father-in-law's grandparents, He is in his ninetys and is interested in finding out more about his family. Hi Virginia, There are many of us who have access to online history books and old newspapers, subscribe to more than one genealogy site, as well as being good at finding free online resources. I understand your father-in-law is quite elderly, so you probably would like to find out as much as possible for him, as quickly as possible. Because he is in his nineties, we should be able to find him in at least one census. If you could list any names of his family members, their approximate dates of births and deaths, and where they lived, we should be able to help you find some great information to share with him. We may even be able to find an announcement of his own birth, or an announcement about his parents' wedding. It is best to start with the living family member and work backward, to prevent any mistakes in following the wrong person. It is easy to go off on the wrong 'branch' of a family tree, researching the wrong family when there are several people with similar names and birth dates and places. If you add more info, I'll be happy to look through my databases for you. I might strongly recommend that you find the death certificate for his PARENT then before you determine whether you have the correct grandparent. Has he given you any info that he remembers himself? he would not ever have known them, but did he ever visit their grave? Somewhere in his parent's things might have been information of the church that buried the grandfather . . . that could be a good lead if you have any idea of what denomination or town or church . . . ----- Original Message ----- From: "Virginia Patricelli" <virgpat@usfamily.net> To: <minnesota@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 09, 2006 6:46 PM Subject: Re: [MINNESOTA] Death Index -Francis Jeffery >I know it is because I have the license and certificate of marriage naming > the parents of Francis and Elizabeth Rogers Jeffery.
