Hi Jo Is their a chance that this "Horseshoe Barn" might have been either a livery or blacksmith shop, where horses were shod or horseshoes made? Am seeking information about Georg Eilif Aas, born 1892 in Trondheim, and emigrated to Duluth in 1921. His daughter, Georgea, is still living in Norway at 85 years of age. She never saw him again after he came to the U.S. and would love to know what happened to him. He is not listed in the 1949 Duluth telephone directory. I have called a number of Aas names in that area code without finding a match. The two Aas families I connected to in Duluth proper were of Danish descent. Any help you could give would bring tears of joy to his daughter. Tusen takk! Dennis http://www.stadsbygd.org

MEHLTRATER My Genealogy Site: http://www.harbornet.com/folks/dick/SchweissFamilyHistory.htm ============================================================== - Photography Service for Genealogists Would you like to obtain a digital photo of a tombstone, a house, or some other feature of your family's history? Pixelminers is a service that may be useful to you. Pixelminers is a unique service for those needing a digital photograph of anything, anywhere -- as long as it's legal and can be safely photographed. For the genealogist, this means things like photos of gravestones, an old farmhouse or other family address from years ago, the small European town you're descended from. You can add these pictures to any modern genealogy program or to the family photo album. Pixelminers is an association of more than 1,000 photographers around the world who take pictures for a fee. The photographers take the digital photos and send them via the Internet, receiving their payment electronically. The nice thing about this service is that anyone can place an order from the comfort of their home. Many clients want or need a photo or research but are unable or unwilling to bear the expense of transportation, lodging, and other considerations that travel involves. Sometimes this involves going to a country where they do not speak or read the native language. Clients use Pixelminers for genealogical documentation and research, personal interest, and curiosity, preparation for travel, general interest and educational research, documentation, and many other reasons, including replacing that lost, missed, or damaged vacation photo. You can check them out at http://www.pixelminers.com.

As MN is on the Canadian border this might be of interest to some of you. It was send from the Family Tree E-mail newsletter <1901 Canadian Census, Version 2.0 When Family Tree Magazine E-mail Update told you about the 1901 Canadian census going digital a few months ago, some readers (such as Mac and Netscape users) were disappointed because they couldn't use the site due to its "plug-in" technology. The National Archives of Canada has since fixed that problem and launched a new version of the site.> http://www.archives.ca/02/020122_e.html http://www.archives.ca/02/02012202_e.html Margie - WA
