Hi, I`m researching the Cyr family. Mike Cyr cyrgenealogy@shaw.ca http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cyrs
I have some pictures from the 1950 annual of St Mary's School in Little Falls. Pictures are of the Graduating Class, Football team and Cheerleaders. Will forward to anyone who wants them. Les Chisholm Lacey, WA
I am looking for information on Jelte Mammenga, his father Thys Mammenga, and family from this line. I believe they came from Ostfriesland Germany in or about 1880-1882. Via New York (although I have never found them on a ship list) to Illinois to Minnesota, Redwood Cty. Waterbury township. They are buried at St Matthew Cemetery outside of Wabasso, Mn. Mickey
Margit Try this link to MN Place Names index on MNHS website. http://mnplaces.mnhs.org/upham/city.cfm?PlaceNameID=13049&BookCodeID=74&County=28&SendingPage=Results.cfm Since they do not say which township it was in, you may have to contact the Houston county Historical Society to see if they have old land records which would pinpoint the Looneyville location. Looking at the BLM - GLO records site it appears the land owned by Looney was located in Houston township. I live 250 miles away from the Minnesota History Center. Margit >> I am interested in having Ida Maude Palmer born October 5, 1892 in Martin >> County, Minnesota and was born a Personius. Evidently I didn't do this right the first time and I just learned some new things so here goes again and I apologize if by chance my last one got through to you. I'm trying to find out more information on this family line. David W. FREEMAN was b. in New York about 1831, married Amanda ROYSE in Clayton Co, Iowa about 1858. I have them in census reports in Clayton Co and Kossuth Co, Iowa. In 1880 they are in Waverly Township, Martin County, Minnesota, then in 1900 back in Kossuth Co and then in 1910 David W. is in Union Township, Emmons County, ND. CLAYTON COUNTY: Supposedly David W. and Amanda married here but I have not been able to find anything. MARTIN COUNTY: Amanda died before 1910 but I cannot find any record of it here or in Iowa. One of David W.'s sons, Frank W. is in Fairmont, Martin Co in 1920 and his widowed wife and one daughter are still there in the 1930 census. I have been told that son David A. is living in Martin Co in 1920 but I cannot find him. Some of the census are not very clear but also I haven't finished going through all the townships. Are there any places I can find Martin Co obituaries, transcribed cemeteries, transcribed census, etc. EMMONS COUNTY: In the 1910 Census, David is living with son Fred in the Union School Township. Son Willis is in the same area. In the 1920 BLM records, David W. purchased land in June (although it appears this is land he had purchased before, or maybe he was adding on to it) however, I cannot find him in the 1920 census which I believe was done six months before. He is not listed as a member of either one of his son's households. Sons Fred and Willis are also on BLM as having purchased land. This 1910 census also shows David W. as a widower and so I have lost his wife Amanda between 1900 and her unknown place of death. In the 1930 Census, son Willis and his family are still in Emmons County. Are there any places I can find Emmons Co obituarties, transcribed cemeteries, transcribed census, etc. Sincerely, Mike Peterson

I was just out surfing around looking for Faribault Co., MN resources and stumbled across this in the Traverse des Sioux Library System. It mostly applies to southern MN counties. http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/GenealogySites.htm I particularly like their listing of the local historical societies and the resources each place has: Blue Earth County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/BlueEarthGen.htm Brown County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/BrownCoGen.htm Faribault County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/FaribaultCoGen.htm Le Sueur County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/LeSueurCoGen.htm Martin County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/MartinCoGen.htm Nicollet County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/NicolletCoGen.htm Sibley County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/SibleyCoGen.htm Waseca County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/WasecaCoGen.htm Watonwan County - http://www.tds.lib.mn.us/WatonwanCoGen.htm They also list the libraries and whether or not they have Internet connections. So, if you are traveling this summer in southern MN, you can figure out where you can stop to pick up your web based e-mail. ;o) Kathy

I would also recommend the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness http://www.raogk.org/ Somebody may have already volunteered to do lookups in the area that your search is for. If there's a volunteer listed, you could send them the camera (you already suggested) and you may be all set to go!
